Adavi Atti’s Oyilattam Workshop

Oyilattam – the “dance of grace” – is a vibrant folk dance form from southern Tamil Nadu, known for its rhythmic footwork, expressive hand movements, and the playful use of cloth handkerchiefs.

This workshop welcomes participants into the energetic world of Oyilattam, where rhythm, movement, and community intersect. Participants will learn basic steps, rhythms, and group formations, while gaining insight into the cultural roots that sustain this tradition.

Designed as a joyful, movement-based experience, the workshop explores coordination, flow, and collective expression – encouraging participants to connect with tradition through embodied practice.
